MATT BYRNE AWARD
Deadset were the recipients of the Matt Byrne Award at the TASA awards night for the 2023 Theatri-Cal awards.
This Award is named in honour of Matt Byrne, who was well known and respected for taking risks and having insight, faith and trust in individuals (who were often novices) to join him in successfully managing those risks.
The Matt Byrne Award recognises an individual, company or team who has created opportunity and encouraged a company member to seize the opportunity by accepting the challenge of stepping up to a first time role in one or more of the following areas.” (Theatre Association of South Australia)
In 2023 Deadset’s War Letters was nominated for the ‘Dramati-cal’ award.
In 2022 Deadset’s Puberty Blues: The Revival Season was nominated for the ‘Dramati-cal’ award.
Matilda Butler and Zoe Muller were also nominated for the ‘Outstanding Performer in a Stage Play’ award
