Synopsis

Puberty Blues the play, adapted from the novel by Kathy Lette and Gabrielle Carey, brings the raw, rebellious spirit of the 1970s Australian teenage experience to the stage. It follows two teenage girls, Debbie and Sue, as they navigate the turbulent waters of adolescence in a surf-obsessed, suburban world. Confronting peer pressure, sexuality, and toxic relationships, the play explores the darkly comic and often painful realities of growing up. With sharp dialogue and biting humour, Puberty Blues offers an unflinching look at the struggles of youth, especially for girls trying to find their place in a world that doesn’t always understand them.
